Taman Negara National Park is one of Malaysia's most popular nature destinations, offering a wide range of eco-tourism activities in a pristine rainforest environment. In the immediate surroundings from the park headquarters, visitors can enjoy birdwatching, jungle trekking and swimming by the river. Further out in the jungle, there are waterfalls and mountains to be explored by river or foot.
Camping in the wild or spending a night in one of several wildlife observation hides around the park, provides opportunities for spotting elusive wildlife such as elephants, tigers and deer. Boat rides provide the easiest way to get around most remote attractions at the park, but for long-distance jungle trails on foot, a guide is recommended from park HQ.
