Gunung Tahan

Taman Negara

Gunung Tahan is Malaysia's second highest mountain after Mount Kinabalu (Borneo), located at Taman Negara National Park. The crown of Tahan Mountain Range at 2,187 meters high, the summits sits on top a massif that overlooks the park's vast stretches of valleys and rainforest. Accessible by two routes, the most popular trail starts from Kuala Tahan, taking about seven days on a return trip.

The alternative starting point is from Taman Negara Sungai Relau at Merapoh, west of Kuala Tahan, which takes 3-4 days on a return trip. Alternatively, visitors can opt for a traverse between both places, which takes about 5 days (return). Guides (compulsory) may be chartered from either park office.
