Kuantan

Kuantan offers some of the best local cuisines found along the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, encompassing mostly Chinese and Malay food. As fishing villages are a common feature along this region, fresh seafood comes in great abundance. Fish of different species and grades, squid, clams, crab and even exotic varities like abalone are common in many restaurants along the coastal.

Some of the specialties unique to Pahang are also available here, including 'Patin Tempoyak' (fermented durian curry with fish), 'Nasi Kukus' (Rice with fried chicken and condiments) and 'Mee Calong', a noodle soup with fish balls, egg and tofu. Other Malaysian staples found at Kuantan include Satay, Nasi Lemak, Cendol and Ikan Bakar as well as well as international cuisine.
