Kuantan River Cruise is one of the city's latest tourist attractions, providing motorised boat rides to explore the mangroves and scenery along Kuantan River that meanders throguh the region. An initiative by local authorities to boost tourism, the river cruise begins from Shahbandar Jetty at Taman Esplanade Park, which is the waterfront walk along the city facing the hospital.
After purchasing tickets from a booth here, the boat chugs along the river, passing by fishermen villages, modern scenery and the river's mouth feeding to sea. A special highlight is a stop at the 1km boardwalk among the mangroves to see trees and local wildlife. Open daily from 11am till 6pm; closed on Wednesdays.
