Teluk Cempedak is the most popular beach in Kuantan, a beautiful bay with sweeping shoreline draped with rich layers of soft white sand facing a windy sea. Located just 5km away from the city center, Teluk Cempedak is an incredibly popular haunting ground for locals and tourists. Lined with shops, hawker stalls, fast food outlets and restaurants, the beach is well equipped with facilities.
At its west end, a short boardwalk leads to Teluk Tongkang, a secluded beach hidden in a bay. Visitors can also climb Bukit Pelindung from a trailhead along the boardwalk. At night, the area remains a popular hangout joint as locals take to dining, shopping and even an amusemnt park. Finally, at the shophouses opposite Teluk Cempedak along the main road, is a popular kopitiam (Hoi Yin) for curry laksa.
